Case Abstract
April 19, 2021
Micor recently provided a Fair Value of an internet service provider. This included valuing its fiber optic cable network, copper cable network, utility poles, land improvements, central office equipment, and IRU (Indefeasible Right to Use) agreements.
In March 2021, Micor conducted a Fair Value Appraisal of fixed assets of an information and communication provider (ICT). Assets included more than 1400 miles of lashed and buried, fiber/copper OSP cable, utility poles, as well as construction, testing, and specialty vehicles to install and maintain the cable. Other assets valued included FTTH and network equipment from Calix, Corning, OCCAM, Tellabs, and the value of static IP addresses.
Due diligence on the assets’ specifications, market issues, competition, useful and service life, replacement, support, and service from the manufacturer were also performed. These were used to provide an opinion of Fair Value for the allocation of purchase price in a business combination (ASC 805).
Fair Value Appraisal for Fiber Optic Construction Company
Case Abstract
June 5, 2020
Micor completed an appraisal of the fixed assets of a fiber optic construction company in the Northeast. This assignment included rendering a Fair Value under ASC 805 for a business combination.
Assets valued in this assignment included vehicles, heavy construction equipment, equipment (including fiber installation tools and computers), trailers, and leasehold improvements.
Micor recently completed a valuation of a fiber optic network in New England. The assignment objective was to provide a Fair Value of the network, including support structures like poles and equipment buildings, in addition to the cable itself. The original construction of the network included a federal grant, which complicated the valuation.
